The memorial is inside St Saviour Church, St Saviourgate, which is now the home of DIG and is run by the Yorkshire Archaeological Trust.

The memorial is inscribed as follows:

“For God, King and Country

To the Glory of God & in Memory of the Men Connected with this Parish who fell in the European war 1914 - 1919 this tablet & the clock in the tower are dedicated.
